The inaugural meeting of the newly constituted Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS) Management Committee (IMC) was held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the International House, University of Ghana.

Prof. Appeaning Addo the Chair of the committee welcomed the members and thanked them for honoring the invitation to serve on the committee. In his welcome address, he outlined his objectives as the construction of the IESS building and the creation of an Academic Chair for the Institute. He therefore asked for their cooperation and expertise to ensure the success and growth of the Institute.

Present at the meeting was Prof. Daniel Asiedu (Provost, CBAS), who officially inaugurated the 17 member IESS Management Committee. The 17-member Management Committee includes Prof. Kwasi Appeaning Addo (Director, IESS/ Chairperson), Prof. Chris Gordon (IESS), Prof. Eramus H. Owusu (Vice-Chancellor’s Representative, UG), Dr. Ted Yemoh Annang (IESS), Dr. Dzidzo Yirenya-Tawiah (IESS), Dr. Adelina Maria Mensah (IESS), Dr. Daniel Amoako Darko (IESS), Dr. Jesse Sey Ayivor (IESS), Dr. Jacqueline Naalamle Amissah (Crop Science Department, UG), Dr. Samuel Addo (Head, Marine and Fisheries Science Department, UG), Dr. Godfred Bright Hagan (Physical and Mathematical Science Department, UG), Dr. Benjamin Agyei-Tuffour (Material Science Department, UG), Mr. Ebenezer Apah Sampong (Ghana Environmental Protection Authority), Mr. Frederick Attakumah (Asanko Gold, Gh. Ltd), Ms. Cordie Aziz (Environment 360), Mr. Stephen Twumasi Annan (GRASSAG Representative, UG), with Mr. Peter K. Osei-Fosu (Snr. Assistant Registrar) serving as the Secretary.
