IESS Faculty Pay Working Visit to BIOPROTECT in Burkina-Faso

Three faculty members of the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS), Drs Dzidzo Yirenya-Tawiah, Ted Yemoh Annang and Benjamin D. Ofori with partners from MDF West Africa and Ministry of Food and Agriculture, undertook a three day study tour of BIOPROTECT an NGO in Burkina Faso in May 2017. The aim of the visit was to familiarize themselves with BIOPROTECT activities regarding the culturing and use of Trichoderma for compost quality enhancement. 

The team from Ghana were introduced to the BIOPROTECT Consortium members and taken through their various roles and responsibilities.  They were also introduced to the various project components and its workings. The study tours also comprised of field visits to compost production sites. The team also engaged with farmers involved in organic farming.
