Sub-Saharan Africa faces extreme heat challenges that disproportionately impact vulnerable populations, such as manual labourers and informal settlement dwellers. HABVIA aims to bridge the knowledge gap by evaluating heat adaptation strategies in real-world settings across Ghana and South Africa. The project will assess physiological, mental health, climate, and socioeconomic outcomes to inform scalable adaptation interventions. The project is from 2023 - 2027. 

BC5 is a 5-year (2022-2027) collaborative research between the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the University of Ghana (UG), and the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania. The project focuses on understanding the combined effects of pollution and climate change on coastal ecosystems, with an emphasis on education and capacity building for sustainable coastal resource management in Ghana and Tanzania.

The SISTAS Project is a national adolescent empowerment and health initiative in Ghana, coordinated by UNFPA Ghana and the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG). It equips girls aged 10–19 years with knowledge, life skills, and supportive networks to make informed decisions about their health, education, and future. The project is part of the UNFPA–UNICEF Global Programme to End Child Marriage. 

ALBATROSS a European Union-funded initiative aimed at enhancing climate resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa. The project focuses on co-developing climate services and nature-based solutions (NBS) with local communities and stakeholders in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, and Madagascar. By integrating scientific research with indigenous knowledge, ALBATROSS seeks to inform effective adaptation strategies and policies to address climate-related challenges in these regions.

Waste and water are essential resources that require proper management to harness the benefits therein efficiently and human resource is fundamental to achieving this. The Network for Labour-Market-oriented Education in Waste and Water Management (NEWW) project has been rolled out to build scientific and technological capacities in these sectors for the labour market.
