Mr. Nii Amartei Amarteifo

An IESS Researcher

Laboratory Technician

Mr. Nii Amartei is an Environmental Scientist with skills in laboratory analysis, air quality monitoring, and urban heat stress modeling. He has 5 years of experience characterizing environmental and agricultural samples using advanced spectroscopic technology and classical chemical methods. He is currently an MSc candidate in Environmental Science, where his research focuses on urban resilience, heat stress, and air quality dynamics within low-resourced communities.

Research Areas

His current research investigates the indoor heat-particulate matter nexus, focusing on densely populated urban settlements in Ghana and South Africa. To address these challenges, Nii assesses localized passive cooling mechanisms, such as high-albedo reflective roof coatings alongside high-level modeling of Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI). By bridging localized interventions with large-scale climate engineering frameworks, his research aims to deliver data-driven, scalable adaptation strategies that protect vulnerable urban populations from simultaneous thermal and atmospheric hazards.
