Mr. Julius-Jayson A. Botchway
Senior Research Assistant/Env. Education Expert
Mr. Julius-Jayson A. Botchway is an Environmental Psychology enthusiast and Environmental Education Specialist trained at Cornell University. He possesses strong competencies in research design, data analysis, and behavioral modelling for sustainability. Mr. Botchway believes that environmental sustainability is fundamentally shaped by human behavior and advocates for evidence-based and technology-driven approaches to promote pro-environmental actions. His research interests lie at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), behavioral science, and sustainability, focusing on how data-informed modelling can strengthen the relationship between humans and their environment. His work explores consumer waste disposal behavior, circular economy transitions, sustainable consumption, and the use of persuasive technologies to design and implement interventions that foster environmentally responsible behavior.
Research Areas
His work looks at how AI and new technology is adopted by asking hard questions about who gets access, who owns the data, and who gets left behind. He applies these tools to everyday challenges like waste management and transportation, and mobility. By mixing technology with a deep understanding of human psychology, he tries to design systems that work for real people and help build a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Projects Affiliated With
Julius-Jayson’s project affiliations demonstrate a comprehensive approach to waste management. On the strategic side, he has contributed to the NPAP-GPAP Baseline Study and the University of Ghana Plastic Recycling Project. His work in infrastructure includes the Plastic to Fuel Project and the development of an E-Waste Hand Over Center for the Agbogbloshie Scrap Yard. Additionally, he is deeply committed to behavioral change through educational initiatives such as the Nationwide Waste Education Campaign, Eduplast, and Recycle Up Your School Projects"
