The Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS) offers MPhil and PhD programmes in Environmental as well as an MPhil in Sustainability Science and Environmental Sanitation. 

Environmental Science (MPhil and PhD)

This programme equip research fellows with advanced knowledge, research skills, and practical expertise to address contemporary environmental challenges. Training covers key areas including environmental management, sustainability, climate change, environmental policy and law, environmental impact assessment, resource management, sanitation and health, disaster risk reduction, remote sensing, and environmental quality assessment.

MPhil Sustainability Science 

The MPhil Sustainability Science programme equips students with interdisciplinary knowledge and research skills to tackle sustainable development challenges head on. The programme focuses in on human-environment interactions, sustainability governance, natural resource management, food security, sustainable energy systems, water governance, industrial ecology, and sustainable societies.

MPhil Environmental Sanitation

The MPhil Environmental Sanitation programme equips students with advanced knowledge and practical skills to promote sustainable sanitation and public health. It covers water and sanitation, waste management, sanitation policy and governance, risk assessment, urban sanitation, emergency sanitation, and contemporary approaches to environmental sanitation management.
