Q & A with Okeke Cheryl Chinwe Christiana, Port Harcourt, River State, Nigeria 

Okeke Cheryl Chinwe Christina completed her Masters in Environmental Science at the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS), University of Ghana in 2015. Chinwe resides in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria where she currently works as the Operations Coordinator for natnudO Foods Depot.

IESS: What are some of your fondest memories of IESS?

Chinwe: My fondest memories include all the times I had to make presentations. Additionally, the numerous field trips/excursions with my course mates have been fun and memorable moments for me during my time at IESS.

IESS: What is your overall impression about Academics (research, teaching, supervision etc.) at IESS?

Chinwe: IESS is an Institute of excellent teaching and research supervision with high standards of education

IESS: What key factor(s) will make you recommend IESS to another person?

Chinwe: The key factors would be i) the lecturers’ practical way of teaching, encouraging students to think outside the box, and tackle classroom problems based on day to day happenings around them; ii) the cordial relationship between lecturers and the students that is demonstrated in their willingness to help the students anytime and any day.

 

 

Q & A with Dr. Negasi Solomon Gebru, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Dr. Negasi Solomon Gebru completed his PhD (Environmental Science) at the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS), University of Ghana in 2018. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Mekelle University in Ethiopia. Dr. Negasi Solomon Gebru is also the principal investigator on the Carbon stock potential and economic benefits of community managed dry afromontane forest in Ethiopia project.

IESS: What are some of your fondest memories of IESS?

Solomon: My fondest memories are the interaction with IESS staffs

IESS: What is your overall impression about Academics (research, teaching, supervision etc.) at IESS?

Solomon: Overall, academic activities at IESS are going very well. 

IESS: What key factor(s) will make you recommend IESS to another person?

Solomon: I will recommend to others because at IESS the quality of education is very good.
