Emmanuel Ansah (PhD) is a Chief Laboratory Technician and environmental research specialist with over twenty years of professional experience. 

He holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Ghana, an MSc in Environmental Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and a BA in Geography and Resource Development, as well as a Diploma in Statistics, from the University of Ghana. He also holds a Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology from Accra Technical University (ATU).

He possesses advanced proficiency in the implementation and application of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 laboratory quality management standards, including method validation, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures, laboratory accreditation requirements, and the development and enforcement of standardized analytical protocols. He is an experienced project manager with expertise spanning ecotoxicology, environmental impact assessment, hydrobiology, water resources management, limnology, environment, health and safety (EHS), nature-based solutions, and climate change science. 

He has led and participated in numerous environmental impact assessments, including projects related to mining, water resource management, coastal erosion, and hydropower development.

Research Areas

His research addresses complex environmental challenges, including emerging contaminants and green pharmaceuticals, e-waste pollution, ecosystem services, coastal and groundwater pollution, urban sanitation, environmental auditing, water and sediment quality assessment, strategic environmental assessment, aquatic ecological biomarkers, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
