Impacts of Noise making - a focus on the city

Our cities are experiencing increasing levels of noise pollution. This increasing noise levels have diverse impact on our health, productivity and the quality of our environment. Dr Dzidzo Yirenya-Tawiah believes the lack of action from the citizens arises from people's lack of awareness on the "bylaws on noise-making, or are put off complaining because of fears it will affect their reputation or standing in the community".

In an interview with the Guardian News & Media Limited on the situation of noise making in Accra, she indicates that noise pollution is a public health concern that can result in increased stress levels, hearing loss among others.
