The Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS) on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 received from Central Empire Group of Companies, an ICT firm, a CANON ImageRunner 2202 photocopier as donation, during a short but colorful ceremony held at the IESS Secretariat, University of Ghana.
Mr. Patrick Adu-Mensah (CEO, Central Empire Group of Companies) stated that the donation formed part of their corporate social responsibility and the decision was made after the Assistant Registrar’s appeal to the company. He therefore hoped the gesture will advance the critical research work being undertaken by the Institute in the areas of environment and sanitation. He reiterated the long and solid relationship between the company and the Unit.
The Assistant Registrar, Mr. William Asare, who received the donation on behalf of IESS, thanked the company for their generous gesture and promised that the photocopier would be used to promote research and academic work in the Institute.
He was hopeful that the fruitful relationship between the two organizations which began in 2012 will continue to enhance academic work.
Also present was the Director, Prof. Chris Gordon and other staff members of the Institute.
